Aloo Gosht recipe:

Here is my recipe for Aloo gosht!

Ingredients:


  1. Any meat you prefer (beef, mutton, chicken)

  2. 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste

  3. 1 tbsp coriander powder

  4. 1 tbsp red chilli powder

  5. 1/4 tsp turmeric

  6. Salt to taste

  7. 1/2 cup brown onions

  8. 1/2 cup oil

  9. 1/2 cup tomato puree

  10. water

  11. Potatoes (depending on how much you want to add. I use 3 potatoes per 1/2 kg of meat)

  12. 1/4 tsp garam masala

  13. 3 cut green chillies and 1 whole green chilli

  14. Chopped coriander


Directions:


  1. Add the oil and meat into your pot and sauté.

  2. Then add the ginger garlic paste and mix well.

  3. Add the coriander powder, red chilli powder, turmeric and salt and mix for 2-3 minutes.

  4. Add the onions and mix until they are soft.

  5. After 3-4 minutes of mixing, add the tomato puree and mix again.

  6. Add some water (according to your pot size) and turn the flame off and leave it for 15 minutes.

  7. After around 15 minutes the colour of the dish will have changed. (If you think there is too much water then cover the pot and keep on a low flame so that the gravy dries a little).

  8. Cut the potatoes in whichever size and shape you want and add to the pot. Leave on low flame for 10 minutes.

  9. Add garam masala on top along with the green chillies (this will give an amazing smell)

  10. Add the coriander on top on leave on slow flame to simmer for 10 minutes.

  11. Add some lemon on top (optional) and serve.
